"What is sports medicine?"
Sports medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness, and the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise.
Due to sports becoming a profession for professional athletes, doctors began to see patterns of injuries in athletes associated with the sports they were playing.
This led to new treatments coming out to keep players playing after what used to be a "career ending injury", and the development of exercises and treatments to help reduce the likelyhood and severity of future injuries in players.
Because of this, it's important as an athlete to have a doctor who practices sports medicine routinely on your side.BOOK APPOINTMENT

"Will I recover from my injury?"
There are a variety of sports related injuries, some are career ending while others are not.
As sports have become more popular, and becoming a professional athlete has become a respected career. More resources are available to treat injuries and get players back on the field, when before those very same injuries may have been career ending.
There are still some career ending injuries, however with the right medical team behind you the number of these is less.
That's why having a good sports medicine team behind you or your athletes is important.BOOK APPOINTMENT
